I am posting mostly because I am tired of looking at ye olde scooter at the top of bucketsamoonbeams.
Wanna know what else I'm tired of?
- Paisleys,
- fleur-de-lees,
- doilies,
- rosies,
- posies,
- frenchy patterns,
- polka dots,
- ruffles,
- fancy stripes,
- curls,
- swirls,
- twirls,
- damasks, and
- paramecia.
I'm alright with it if you call me a hater. It's not that I'm a minimalist. It's not that I'm Mr. spartan anti-aesthetics. It's that I'm anti-trendytacky and anti-headaches. Reading material should not be upholstered.
So if you always wondered why Hilary's blog is so ugly, it's because of Andy.
(To be honest, most of me (probably the retired amateur folklorist) loves the interior design touches that so many awesome women I know do to their awesome blogs that celebrate and share the joys of their life and family. I just wanted to see if I still had the skills to rant about something.)
I do predict that the damask and doily blog craze reaches its apex soon.
Love, Andy

Andy, thanks for making me feel better about my boring blog, which I happen to like. One question...why the pictures of cells or something that looks like cells (am I that out of the design loop?)
Why all the hate bro? How bout little cartoonish looking birdies? Are those OK?
Wish I could be in P-town with you guys next week!
Amen, brotha, amen.
I just want everyone to know that this is so uncharacteristic of my sweetie of a husband. He usually doesn't go around picking fights. And please, don't be haters (especially toward me--I didn't write it).
Based on the title of this post and the first photo, I thought it was going to be a commentary on the unsanitary nature of cloth-bound library books.
I agree that damask is overdone. What do you think the next trend will be? Plaid?
Hey Hilary, I posted that chicken recipe just for you because I know you like easy meals. Yes, I did make it. I liked it. And this post http://www.ourbestbites.com/2008/05/rotisserie-chicken.html will address your chicken fears.
Too funny. Now... what do you do when you get sick of Norah's frilly outfits?
So, we think you're funny. We like you guys. AND, Hilary, just today I was thinking about how I wanted to see Norah and see how cute she is and how bigger she is.
I've felt couped up with these sicknesses and thought of you on bed rest. I'm stoked to get back on my normal routine. It's looking like tomorrow will be a pretty good start!
